Question What Wax ??????

Just about finished my tub of Swisswax Shield Wax and am now looking for something to replace it with.

I've previously had Swisswax Saphir, and have been very impressed with both of them. I've always used wax instead of sealents, as i belived they offered more protection to the paint (waits for the discussion to prove me wrong)

I'll also need some sort of pre wax treatment as i've also run low on that after todays marathon session

So what does everybody else use Dodo Juice, Zymol, Swisswax.....

Wax - Dodo Supernatural without a doubt. Beats Swissvax Best of Show hands down.

Pre-wax cleaner - Dodo Lime Prime / Lime Prime Lite

I know a good place to buy it from as well

Jeffs Werkstatt would work really well on your car fella.

However, you can't apply an acrylic sealant over a wax. It will cause it to haze as the wax can't evaporate like it naturally would.

I would disagree wax protection is superior to a sealant. Sealants generally offer a longer lasting protection... Waxes give a warmer/wetter finish though.

I'm ordering some Dodo SN from Matt and looking forward to giving it a go.

Werkstatt Acrylic is cracking on lighter colours. Also gives a great finish on WR Blue. As Ross said you can't apply it over a wax. Wax needs to breathe otherwise it goes cloudy / yellow and really quick manky.

Sealants / Acrylics are fine to use on their own or go on under the wax after polishing. They give added durabilty and help to stop fading from UV rays. They tend to give a cold crisp look where as waxes tend to be warm and wet.

There is a top coat out there that you can apply over wax that is similar to a sealant. It's made by Mothers and is called Advanced Reflections Top Coat. This does take away a little of the wetness from waxes, but gives stunning protection.

SN is about £95, and then you can have the pot refilled at £65 a time. Not sure how much of a discount Matt gets.

I've never tried the RaceGlaze but if Polished Bliss sell and use it, then I suspect it would give super results.

I've never used that Dodo detailer either. With quick detailer, I would just go with Last Touch as works out much cheaper than the alternatives...

As earlier post, my personnal choice on your colour car would be the JEFFS Werkstatt acrylic kit. I used it on a friends DC5 Teg and is superb on whites, grays and those colour types.

That said, all the products mentioned (Dodo, JEFFS, RaceGlaze, Poorboys) would all leave a superb finish.
