Default My latest scooby disaster - fingers crossed!

What IS it with me and my scoobies?!

First was the house break-in, then the car valeter who totalled my blue one..........now some boy racer who can't control his car picks my road in which to lose it bigtime at 2.45 am on Saturday and takes out my car while it is on my drive minding his own business...............

Before I could get outside he had driven off, leaving my neighbours (if any of them had been bothered to get out of their beds that is) the treat of seeing my half naked self and kids jumping up and down on my driveway and yelling at the state of my car

However he did have the decency to drop his details through my door the next afternoon, when he'd sobered up, no doubt. Amazingly, he does have valid insurance!

Pics don't really show extent of the damage, but car is at ABW now and am really hoping it can be fixed and insurance will agree to it........

So......hope to see you all soon

you really dont have any luck do you. Im sure thats not too bad for ABW to work his magic.

I had similar when i had my classic. Car parked on drive and hit by joyriders. never caught them tho. Had 3k worth of repairs and 8 weeks off the road.

Sorry to see this Lorraine

Hope all goes well getting it sorted.
When the lorry hit me it was more the inconvenience of not having the car that annoyed me the most but like you I was lucky that the driver (foreign) had insurance.

They say things come in threes so that should be it now. You would think it would be safe on the drive.

If this had happened a few weeks ago I would have been first in the queue to buy your car!

Well nothing happened to the culprit as far as i am aware - he jetted off back to Mauritius I think
Although the owner of the workshop behind BP is always very nice to me now when i see him in passing and he repaired my mum's car for free!
Eventually got fair payout from insurance for blue car, no chance of fixing that one!

Abbey Service Centre - owner of that actually owns that entire plot of land that the BP garage and the car wash business stands on - still doing a roaring trade from what i can see!

How lucky are you - I don't mean having the car hit, but by him having the ***** to come round with his insurance.

Hope it all gets sorted very quickly & you're back on the road soon!

This happened to my mates scoob last week, the police were chasing them at the time but didn't catch them so he has now got to go through his own insurance.

Not always so. Have a chat with a Solicitor ie Milamber. There's a fund that should pay him out rather than his own insurance i think. Especially as he was being chased by plod. Could be an arguement that he wouldn't have hit the car if he wasn't being chased

Sorry mate, i meant that the joyriders were being chased lol and his car was parked on the pavement while he was visiting a friend. He is still waiting to find out if it will be a right off He has only had it a year and might end up losing about 3-4k

That's what i mean if the joyriders weren't being chased by plod they may never have crashed into his car. Worth checking with Milamber to see if there's any way he can claim anything from elsewhere rather than loosing out.

they told him the car is a "uneconomical" right off, so now he has to wait for payout. What i would like to know is, how do you buy car back for parts? do they offer it back or do you ask if it can be bought back?
