Thanks guys.
Had a bit of a disaster yesterday
The first 16-17miles went very well indeed and I was on target for a 3hr 10min run then all of a sudden the wheels fell off and I had the longest 9mile walk/jog to get to the finish line.
Not sure what went wrong/why but it's back to the drawing board to get ready for Edinburgh marathon in 5 weeks time.
Finished in 8744th place out of over 35,000 in a time of 4 hours and 30 seconds.
I feel suprisingly fresh today all things considered so i'll be heading to the club tonight for a very gentle/easy jog to tick the legs over.
Thanks again for all the support and for sponsoring me, it really is much appreciated. I've put some photos up and a race report on my site www.forgottenone.co.uk

Okay, so you feel something went wrong two thirds of the way round, but you kept going & completed the course - you have my full respect!
Good luck for Edinbugh (should be a bit cooler up there!!)

Thanks Sccoby Blue. The funny thing is I was surrounded by 35,000+ other runners and the thousands of supporters lining the streets yet the last 9miles were the loneliest miles i've ever run. It's just a battle with yourself to dig deep and keep moving no matter how much it's hurting.
Every step forward was a step closer to the finish.
I did get a good tan out of it so all isn't bad

Be careful when you go North of the Border then, if you've got a tan - they can be funny bu$$ers up there - they might throw you out!! (I should know - my mothers a jock!)
Bet you don't top the tan up in Edinburgh though!
You should be so very proud of yourself - it is one hell of an achievement - though 9 miles is a long time to be alone with your thoughts................!
Good luck and keep up the training!
