Cool EsseX MX5 ModS

Now that I've had my MX5 for nearly a year and enjoyed every second of ownership I think its time for some modding

As some of you will know I've already made some minor cosmetic changes to the dials, Steering wheel, Front indicator lights and side repeaters.

Over the next 12mths I intend to upgrade the brakes, Gaz shocks & Coilovers, add a turbo & FMI, completely re-cover the interior. Last but not least I want to finish with a full re-paint

As part of this process I've just managed to acquire a set of these too

Thanks to Steve at Leigh Tyres I got such a stonking deal, I couldnt refuse.

Cant wait to see these on the Eunos

YVM have you bought one yet? You know you want to

I was wondering why you were so keen to help collect the Go-Kart deposits.
Only joking and just keep thinking of that huge power to weight ratio all through the back wheels aswell. If you keep markb4 talking I`ll unbolt his LSDiff for you cos I think you`re gonna need it.

I brought the Mrs an MX5 around November last year.

I must admit, I like driving it.. It is so much nicer to drive around town (compared my Impreza with twin plate Exedy, PPG etc)...

I was going for 195/50/15 but went for 195/45/16 on Toyos at a bargain £100 per corner including fitting & Balancing
They have a special on this particular style so I dived in as usual lol

Not only are they great to drive but people really like these cars too.
It reminds me of my old MGB but this one starts every time doesnt stall at roundabouts or go all shy at the first drop of rain

I had a ride in Marks MX5 (the guy that owns Gaz Shocks) and his car was just amazing through the twistys with the racing Coilover setup. So much so I've already committed to them too.

This will lower the car about 75-100mm but the shocks are so refined it doesnt make for a harsh ride. For me this is essential as I use this little beauty every day As a bonus they are fully adjustable so you can opt for whatever ride suits you best

I think everyone should have one of these though just for the grin factor alone

True.. more people let me out of junctions in the Mazda than the Impreza.

They are indeed huge fun! Ours is just the 1.6 but you can chuck it around.

good luck with your mods! then get it on the track and blow away those Porsche Boxsters

I've noticed that too and the 1.6 is much more free revving than the 1.8.
When the turbos fitted there will be some cars on here getting worried lol

It's an age thing - I just check the switches are all off & get out the car.

Will you get a flashing, buzzing one when the hearing starts to fade too?

Look forward to seeing the new boots in place, and now to seeing the forry on the road too!

I've been in too much of a rush on several ocassions so for that alone its money well spent

The new boots have been delayed till Monday but as soon as they're on they will be photographed and up for your approval

We will be using the Forry on Sunday for the Classic Car Show

not ideal tbh but better than nothing. just make sure that all residue is removed as you don't want wax getting on your discs
