saw spally pulled into a layby so pulled over to make sure he was ok. (he was just waiting for his brother) then went about 100 yrds down the road approx 30 mph from 2nd to 3rd, and the gear lever started rattling on my hand with no "drive" luckily managed to roll up a slight driveway. tried all the gears (nothing) tried reverse, the car lurched back about 6 inches and locked up. cant get the gear lever out of reverse and cant roll the car even with the clutch down.
waiting to see if its still under warranty, else its not worth transporting anywhere.

Have you noticed - it always seems to be the classics that break down, the new ages just keep on going.....

thanks for the nice replies and texts folks, makes you proud to be in the ESC.
i'm just going to forget about the car for the weekend and then make a plan of action.
i'm not too bothered about it truth be known as its never run 100% since the "remap" anyway so with that in mind, might save up for 6 months and find someone who actually know how to make these cars "go/start/work/run" properly.
as always, and feedback will be posted on here for public awareness purposes
i might write a book about it all one day
"From Japan to the Junkyard - via the bank"

they got it on flatbed using plastic wedges, called slippery jims or something, which go under the wheels and slide, then its a case of winching it up onto the metal checkerplate, which is fairly slippery anyway. the whole bed tips up and an extension plate comes out the back like some WW2 landing craft !!!
Slippery Jims
same in reverse to get the car off with a bit of a jiggle on the slider mechanism.... all clever stuff and the bloke let me have a go of the winch too !! wooop wooop !!!

Hi Dazza,
sorry to hear about your problem!
I've seen this happen before on a friends
classic. (not our one)
I managed to get the car out of reverse by
starting the engine with clutch down and then
using the clutch to rock the car slightly.
Whilst doing this 'gently' smack the gearstick
out of gear. It took a few goes but does work
Seems the problem is in the selector mechanism
somewhere. The owner never did get it fixed,
but got used to doing this every now & then.
Might be worth a try!!

Sorry to read about your probs with the gearbox.
Once you have got the gearbox issue sorted,
You're running a Simtek aren't you? Simon - Jollygreenmonster has sorted out all the issues left by the previous tuner on Essexboy30's TA car. He is based in Kent, or is mobile and travels to you.

Obviously the landing maybe a tad tricky but I'm sure you could find an angle
