Opinions please - brake calipers.
Hi all,
Some AP Racing 6 pots coupled with Performance Friction discs recently came up for sale and I couldn't resist .
The only problem is that the calipers are the black ones and my current brake calipers are gloss red as per the pictures below.
So now I need to decide on one of the following options and wondered if anybody else had an opinion:
1 - Stop being a tart, whack the AP's on as they are and drive it!
2 - Paint the AP's red with white lettering to match the rear.
3 - Buy the black AP rear calipers - this is the ideal option but that kind of braking power is overkill for all but the top spec TA cars (also costs too much).
4 - Paint all the calipers a gloss black with white lettering.
Caliper paint wise - Foliatec stuff okay from Halfords with maybe Hammerite for the lettering okay? Any other recommendations?
I'll also have the Brembos up for sale soon so let me know if any of you are interested.
Many thanks
Rossi

Thanks lads - really appreciate the ideas!
Trails - I agree, the red is a bit tarty.
Moley - Mmm.. very tempting, can I have the weekend to mull it over?
Nick - Totally agree yours look much better with the black/yellow. Who painted them red? Looks like a bit of a bodge job to me.
I'm really tempted to go all black... either with the matt black as per Trails or possibly gloss black with white lettering like 53WRX's black Brembos...
This is because the new year plan is to replace the V6 rear wing with a lip or complete despoiler. Black calipers would then be more in keeping with the dark/subtle look.
Either that, or swap with Moley... hmmmm..

Dave - thanks very much for your kind offer and I may well take you up on it.
Going to think about it over the weekend but due to the one sided voting I'm probably going for the matt black for the rears and keeping the AP's as they are. Cheers everyone
VHT does indeed stand for Very High Temperature.
