are you talking about the lower pully on the crankshaft????
if that keyway is knackered its a right bitch to sort without costing £££'s
IIRC as the keyway is ground on to the crank shaft (can someone confirm this)??

it is the lower pulley, and its off the car at mo car runs fine with out it just no power steering or alternator i no this because i drove it home about 3 miles, got home and found all the belts had jumped off and the lower crankshft pully was all floppy where the bolt had undone, only when i took a good look in the light i realised on the pully the whole recess around the groove has worn off hence it it wont grip over the key which is majoritly intact

id get xtreme to do it for you personally, also even though the key seems intact, the fact that it has worn away the pully must have damaged it a little bit, as these are high tolerance parts....
i had the same on my car 3 years ago, when i first bought it!! the garage (jap import, london road), had 2 goes at fixing it, in the end i took it to xtreme and paul fixed it for me first time. (new key and 2nd hand pully)
also this pully must be torqued up properly, with the car in gear and foot on the brake!!!
