Default New boy, be gentle!

Ladies and Gents,
I've finally got myself a decent car in the shape of a '99 Turbo saloon, and will be setting about getting it as good as new over the forseable future.
After vowing to keep it standard, I buckled after just three days, having seen what i think is a Hayward and Scott backbox for £40, I thought it would be rude not too!
It's not on the car yet, but having come from several different makes of car to the Impreza, I wish I'd done it years ago, quite nippy as standard compared to what I am used to.
Had a good look round the site, and it seems the best place to be for info and advice, so enough rambling for now, until next time....

Welcome to the madhouse Rob.

Glad to see you bought the best colour. Plenty of helpful advice on here, but be warned, most of it involves spending loads of money on modifications. Back box is the best place to start, followed by the rest of the exhaust. Then Dump valve, rims, after market lights, tints, graphics....... and the list goes on.

Come along to a meet and dont be afraid to say hello, just look for the pink shirts.

Thanks for the very warm welcome, appreciated.
I am well pleased with the car, a fantastic base to start from, and bloody good fun as it is.
I am based in and around Epping, so may see a few other members on the road. I am up for track days etc, and have been to the 'Ring in August this year, and would n't mind going there again in the Scooby.
I'll see what's going at the weekend, and maybe able to stray Southend way!!

Yeah, North Weald is 5 minutes from mine, I am not going to go mad with it though, as it's my daily driver and I'll be doing a couple of hundred miles per week in it at least. I'd be interested in getting the condition of the car back up, and also refreshing stuff like the brakes, suspension and steering. Don't get me wrong, it's miles better than anything else i test drove, i can just see there's room for a little improvement.

Are there any badges/ stickers I should keep an eye out for on other Scoobs from here? Or does everyone get a wave??

Yer keep an eye for the scoob with the big flashy lights on the roof..

SIDC stickers and your scooby name and flag on the rear passengers are good to go..

Welcome Rob & I/we wave at any Scooby & even the odd Evo.

The Scooby with the roof lights will often wave back as well.

Thanks guys, and TBH, I'd be very reluctant to go the stickers "look at me" route, I've already noticed how much attention driving a Subaru gets, and it's freaking me out a little. (I am a big boy, I'll cope)
I'll do my best to get to the Half Way house meet, even if it's only briefly, or perhaps another event. I'll be at the Time Attack finals at Snett on the 12th, so probably meet some of you there.
