New boy, stupid alarm questions??
I am new to all things Subaru, and have only just picked up my MY99 Turbo. (At least I think thats how it's referred too!)
It's only come with one key and fob, and sooner or later I am going to lose it/them. What are my option locally, if any?
I came by the site by chance after bumping into a really friendly guy in Harlow WH Smiths last week, who recommended the meets. Did nt get his name, but if "you" read this, thanks for the tips!!
Good site from what I've seen so far, be busy for a while cleaing the car, and sourcing a couple of bits to improve it.
I travelled all over to look at cars, ended up in Cambridge getting a car that was originally a Loughton owned car. Its a small world!
Cheers guys
Rob

I nothing about the alarm but welcome on board
I always say that the only stupid question is the one you forget to ask, so fire away and I'm sure the more technical amongst us will be able to help you.
Come along to some meets and show your car off , there's a pretty big one on the 25th October - the tunnel run
My 2p worth is that you will need to go to a dealer.

welcome aboard,
on a MY99 unless it has had an after market alarm it will be a sigma. You can get a new key/fob from any subaru dealer, or failing that i think xtreme in boreham can get hold of them.
They aren't cheap, need to get another set for mine and think it came to about £150

AHHH
Hi there mate, car looked really smart! If you'd seen me five minutes earlier towards Chelmsford, I was "enjoying" the performance aspects of the car, still getting used to it compared to my trusty old 5 series!
Regards the alarm fob, I checked with Wilsons today, and they can supply me an AC38 fob for less than £30!
Guess where I am going tomorrow

Just to update, the new fob and coded ignition are in @ Wilsons and await my car. They'll go through the programming sequence with my existing fob, and the new one, and sort the ignition key, all for a smidge over £130 all in. Well pleased
(£30 something for the fob, £96 for the coded ignition key)
Better than i expected!

Hi ya Simon, nothiong wrong with Fords mate, owned loads of them, aside from posting it on here, your secret is safe with me
Thanks again for the encouragement, i've never enjoyed a car so much, and the alarm work today was not too painful either (10 out of 10 for Wilsons so far!)

Chadwell Heath, Romford. They've got a Subaru technician with 12 years experience, seems a really good set up down there.
On another issue, they do Alfa's down there. I Looked at their "menu servicing" with fixed tariffs for cars, they charge £900 for a cambelt change, and £400 for a major service!! FFS and they say Subaru's are expensive, at least they don't depreciate like an Alfa or break down all the time (touch wood).
