Default EVERYONE BEWARE OF THIS SITE

My dipstick brother has handed over £800 to a company, paid by western union.

Company website..... www.ele-bay.com

Can anyone check this out for me, see if they are genuine?

Personally, i think it is a scam (he will never learn!) but need to make sure....then i can pound his head into the ground for being such a plank....~AGAIN!

Alarm bells rang for me straight away when i contacted them through MSN messenger (what company uses this???) after looking on their website and looking under payments, says they accept paypal.....when asked they said no!

Sounds too much like a perfect scam to me...what do you all think?

As a rule of thumb, I tend to avoid anything to do with Western Union transfers like the plague.
Its the scammers favourite method.

the thing that worries me is the email address......on the bottom of the website itself.

if i owned ele-bay.com, my email would be....

support@ele-bay.com
sales@ele-bay.com

etc...........

i can see that the domain belongs to a company in China.

I just hope the are genuine. although i do have a phishing programs running on my firefox, and explorer, and neither come up that it is listed as a phishing website.

all i can say is good luck

Only problem is, the plank paid through western union, will look into them tonight, but i dont think he has a leg to stand on with regards of getting his money back from them.

hmmmm just spotted something Pezza

on there website it says this............

© Copyright 2006 ele-bay.com all rights reserved Tel:0086-013710682304

in the above post from me it states ....

If a domain was made say 2 years ago...the whois website would state that the domain name was created say 2006 .ie. the copyright on the ele-bay.com header at the bottom of the webpage states copyright 2006.

This is obviously a lie. Sorry.

Eg: my website here

here is some of the info from the whois website.

bye bye £800 ... court will get you nowhere as they will never trace the people behind the company. Guy at work sold his watch with a situation just like this. Trace led to an empty run down building, no watch, no money, no chance.

i think that website belonged to elebay.net or something (the code behind the website) and then the code was transferred to the current domain, hence the difference between the copyright and the domain create dates.

still looks dodgy as **** and as gangster has said, if there is a problem, wave bye bye. and write it off as a bad experience.

i hope it does work out for your brother though !!!

Well if he would have done his homework, he might have seen all the signs of a scam to start with.

He has got NO proof of payment (western union!) andf no receipt of goods either!

Was given a tracking number yesterday afternoon, and was told it would not be "live" until items reach UK?

This is AFTER ha had paid an ADDITIONAL £300 to clear customs??????

Defo a scam, he has lost out AGAIN because he is too damn stupid to see it for himself!

Pezzza, it might be worth explaining how he found the goods in question.

was it on ebay or did he search for something in particular, or was it an email offer??? Service providers love to hear about scamms and can add these websites to their "blacklists" for the time being, which might go some way towards stopping others getting foiled!!!!

worth an email to ebay as well, as the website name, does look similar!

He said he got it from a "friend" he plays darts with on a monday night!

Looks like his new friend will be buying loads of beer for the next few months...lol

Gotta laugh at him, its not the first time he has been had using western union, he tried to buy into an oil company last year (russian girl on line) and handed over £3500

Before that, he was speaking to yet another russion girl on line, and she said she wanted to get married and start a family, dipstick sent her money and even WENT to russia, only to find that there was no-one at the airport waiting for him when he arrived!

There is no end to all the stupid things he has done, but will never listen to me, come to think of it, he wont listen to anybody!

Default *UPDATE*

I have spoken to my brother via messenger this afternoon, this is what he has said.......

TONY says:
they have told me today that the bloke I was talking to run off with my money

Well isnt that a suprise!

Been laughing ever sinse he told me, and even bigger laugh, they want MORE money to send items out.

Not only that, but the winker is looking into doing it all again with ANOTHER company (non UK)

Anyone want to start a website up for a few weeks, put some ipods etc on them, and them i will give him the link for it?

Could be a good money making scam, and he WILL fall for it, GUARANTEED!

you havnt got enough hours to live to teach him to drive......believe me, i have tried!

Last time i went out with him, i reminded him to put his seatbelt on, he let go of the wheel and went up the curb, straight into a tree!

I wouldn't teach him, but for that £15,000 I'd pay for his lessons
