Default HELP please

Put new wheels on car tonight, on starting engine to come home i noticed engine management light was on

Can anyone tell me why it is on, and is there any way of getting it to go out without going to a main dealer to sort it.

Car still drives ok, occasional idle drop, but it has always done that.

Have i managed to brake summit whilst jacking car up? didnt notice anything in way, and always make sure i jack car up on suitable point.

Help please, as its drivin me mad

I have an engine management code reader/reset

New wheels do you no longer require tyres

Can do with tyres soon, as the ones that i have on wheels are mixed, i like to have all same tyres on cars, makes for better handling.

PM me on a price to put on code reader/reset it.

Thanks,

Perry.

Tried that, also tried doing it 8 times, still on.

Did you mean engine running or just turn key?

Would like to find out what is causing the problem, rather than to turn off and hope it goes away.

Maybe i have damaged summit when i jacked car up last night? cant see much under car, but did jack up from under front wheels, maybe theres a sensor there that i caught?

where are the spark plugs/leads?

I might have caught one of them by mistake?

When starting up after putting wheels on, it didnt idle like it usualy does, but after driving it went back to normal.

won't have touched the plugs / leads. they're tucked well up out of the way.

only thin i can think of is if it would go into safety mode after being jacked up too high and it thought was being towed away. not sure if scoobs have this feature as standard or if only on some aftermarket alarms.

also never had any problems after jacking mine up. sounds odd to have happened.

Yes don't reset it until it's been read or you'll be none the wiser

I reckon it's coincidence tbh, read the code and then look it up on here

No bother mate, keep your eye on it and if it hasn't had a proper service it probably needs one. Uprated plugs are always a good plan and well worth a quote to fit as it's not that expensive.

Make sure you use them tyres up before I next see you

Plugs are fairly easy once you have done them once.
