Default More advice needed.....

Well as some will know I'm after some noise as the equal length headers make my car sound like my KA!

Well I'm after a bit of advice about running no rear box!!!!!!

I'm thinking about a rear section that H&S do that's a straight through pipe with no silencer just a 4" tail section....

I know it will be loud at full chat, but will it be MEGA offensive at idle? At the moment it is seriously quiet!!!!

a mate has a rcm exhaust on his but has a cat in place. it's similar to the design you're on about and it's seriously loud. but good loud. keep the elh though. sound soooo much better than the common scoob sound.

put a sports cat in it. that's what will help keep the noise down a bit. why don't you ask h&s if you can try it before you buy it?

Do you think as mine's 2.5 it won't be as bad?

Also, Xtreme have told me that the Exhaust gasket is blowing slightly, would this seriously effect noise?

In answers to questions above.

You would need a centre box the size of an oil drum to make the car anything less that awfully offensive with no rear box. To put it blunt mate, it will sound sh1te and you'll feel like a *** driving it.

Even with tubular headers it will still be horrid. A 3" will be quieter than a 2.5" version of the same system. My 2.5" H&S was horrendous, the 3" was bareable but not much better.

If i were you id get a set of tubular headers and something like a 3" group N system. Go 3" now, you'll thank me for it. Dont waste your money on a 2.5" like I did.

But above all, keep your rear box.

Mrs spec'C' has the scoobyclinic/lateral 3" system with un-equal headers and its a nice noise i think. not too loud/quiet. the spec'C' on the H & S 2.5" system was rather loud.
