Default more boost!!

Hi guys, i`m looking to start some sensible mods to my bugeye wrx, now this is my first scoob(which i must say i`m very happy with) and unlike my previous blue ovalled rs` which are very easy to tune and increase the turbo boost safely, i believe it is a totally different kettle of fish with the scoobies.
I find my scoob seems a little under boosted and though i`m not experiencing any faults, it seems to have too much lag and i believe the td04 which is fitted should less lag than the td05, while i do nnot expect fireworks from a standard wrx, it feels like theres alot more in the tank but how do i let it loose? i have had a hayward and scott centre de-cat, centre section and back box put on, otherwise it is standard.
Is it a case that i need make some mods or simply change the turbo and have it mapped?
Any advise would be gratefully received thanks daron.

Providing you could acurately monitor the AFRs and Knock, you could increase the boost manually. But even if you were to get away with it you wouldnt gain much. Cartainly nothing worth doing and taking the risk for.

Your WRX will have another 2 cats in the system. A pre-turbo cat in the uppipe and a larger main cat in the downpipe.
My advise would be to get a decat uppipe and downpipe, a good quality panel filter, uprated fuel pump. (Walboro will be fine) and have it mapped.

That little lot should see you the thick end of a genuine 270/280bhp...

Id also have it looked at by a specialist beforehand about this lag issue. A TD04 should spool like its underpants are on fire and you should have virtually no lag whatsoever. It could be that your car isnt running its best as is so may not need modding, just setting up.

Hope that helps a little.

I have a wrx aswell and im in the process of increasing power, started with a hayward and scott decat,i went for a open aem induction kit, walbro fuel pump and hks plugs. Just need the decat up pipe and a map similar to this should keep you with standard sti's of even go past them. xtreme scoobies can do you a live road map for £500 then £50 there after for any other mods like bigger turbo etc. If you are still unsure give them a call they will happly talk you through what you could do and different ways for more power.

Be sure to fit the decat pipes the same time as the mapping is done. Else you wil have det and the car wil throw a cel at best.
