Default Alloy wheel refurb or blast.

Hi guys does anyone no of or do sand blasting, ive just bought a second hand set of compomotive wheels but some idiot painted them green i just want the wheels all back to the metal to repaint, ive looked into alloy wheel refurbing but they want somthing between £50-£70 a wheel and I really don't mind repainting the wheels my self but just want the old paint off so i have fesh metal to work with. any ideas anyone?

get some nitromors (sp) strip all thge old off and hey presto.

Ive tried that after hearing good things about it but can't seem to get on with it, maybe im just doing it wrong whats the best way to use it and how long to leave it on for?

might take a few attempts but you should see the paint start to soften/bubble up. I have used it for all sorts, even stripped an old garage door back to nothing before a repaint.

Not sure where you are based , but you could try these people Maldon Shotblasting and Powder Coating - for all your shotblasted and powder coated projects based in Maldon , I haven't used them , but I remember looking at their site before

jp polishing on Canvey are cheap to get them refurbished and do a real good job, he has a web site

That would be my suggestion, get if done properly, and only have to do it once.

same here, they did mine just over a year ago. very pleased with the result (although i have damaged two of them ....so i'll have to pay another visit when i have the money!)

Had a look at jp,there web site looks good, the prices seem quite fare aswell. Im going to give them a call tomorrow get rid of the nasty green black gloss all the way.
