ESC / SIDC Show Day Committee

Default ESC / SIDC Show Day Committee

Right Guys 'n' Gals, I've been speaking with Tiny about an ESC / SIDC show day next year. After the thread about the RS Regional day it got me thinking. "We, the ESC could do this easily" Something along the lines of a regional day to show the other areas, car clubs etc the way it's done in Essex.

There will be a small charge to get in and the money I feel should go to charity. In particular the Essex Air Ambulance. It was summed up by Frayz yesterday when he said "It's something we hope we'll never need to use, but it's nice to know that it's there if we do."

So to make it fairer on what goes ahead (and on the organising side ) please can you put your name forward if you would like to be on the Organising Committiee. The if there is a large interest in coming forward for this, it will go down to a vote to pick another 3 or 4 members to help put the day together.

So people put your name down below. Closing date for putting yourself forward will be 31st May. No nominating someone else as it's not fair on that person if they don't have the time to dedicate to this.

But i wonder if i could convince Hammond to forgo his appearence fee to be there for the day. After all iirc, he has used the services of an Air Ambulance.

That shall be my main task for the event. Getting Hamster to appear.

I need to chase up the MD of the EAA as i've not heard back from him. If i don't get a good response when i chase him up then there are other charities and venues

Not too late to put name down, yes this is the thread for the committee. a small bit of news. on saturday i was at a school fete and there were people from the eaa there so i asked why i've had no response to my email about the day and the funds going to them etc etc. the guy there was only a volunteer but is going to speak to the powers that be and find out why they've not been in contact. i'm going to follow up with an email today. fingers crossed it'll get the ball rolling.
