For a huge meet?

Hello to all members of SN Would anyone be up for a trundle down/across/up (whatever way it would be for you) to Southend?
I was thinking maybe when the weather gets a bit warmer and hopefully a bit dryer We could arrange a big get together and all decend on to Southend sea front We could meet up for a spot of lunch first at The Strawberryfields and then convoy down to the front and park up.
If we could get enough up and running I would of thought it would make a good chance for magazines to get snapping and get SN and its members in the public eye Would be good if we could arrange an escort from the pub/restaurant down to park along the front all together
Was looking for the spring time, one Saturday maybe in April. What do you all think?

I would just to add that I have called a couple of car mags (Fast Car and Practical Performance Car) and depending on when and how many etc, they would be interested

If anyone else can give me some other mag names and either web address's or contact names and numbers I will be happy to contact them

Also, how would Saturday 26th April be for this to happen?

Got some takers, good to see. I am giving it until the end of Feb before I contact the mags again. I will then give them what info we have and take it from there.

I will ask (slim chance) but if any of you that live in or around the Southend area know any of the local police, could you try and find out if they can help us out with arrangeing a convoy from Strawberry fields down to the front and maybe closeing off the parking bays opposite the amusements (if the bays are still there) please

Johnny_sti as long as there quickie mart snacks they will be fine , , ive started a list for the midlands lot so hopefully someone from the ESC can do the same then nearer the date we can put names in one big list and have a great day and night . For the people who live 5 mins away do you fancy a little drive round the M25 and meet up somewhere else ?????? ie . south mimms WAZ .

i vaguely remember someone trying to get an area coned off a while ago, but it was a non-starter. (i think its because there is little enough parking there already)
there are heaps of parking spaces up the other end of southend (towards thorpe bay) near the shorehouse public house, so i dont think there will be a problem doing this.
a police escort on a saturday will never happen in my opinion.

I have sent Practical Performance Car an email saying about this thread and what we are planning to do, I also spoke to Jules at Fast Car and explained to him about it aswell. I am hopeing to hear back from these soon'ish so I will let you all know the outcome when I know

what he said.....southend council/police are always trying to find ways of "banning" cruises so doubt you will get any help from them.

if the main casino area is busy and it's a big enough turn out, also as Dazza has said there is plenty of parking areas away from the main strip.

not being funny, as i'll be attending, but i can't see this being a ppc type of thing. Will is a bit particular on what he features so if they do cover it then a huge well done. much more fast car's sort of feature in my opinion. but i'm up for coming along.
