Now turn the car around & have a look from the front ..
Big smiley front grille , Wing mirrors look like jumbos ears stuck on the side , Oh & whilst we are looking @ the rear , The narrow , Shallow boot is only good for a few shopping bags
Nice touch with the exhausts though , Though will kill the aftermarket sales of bb ' s

Hate to say it mate, but there is logic in there! I'm not saying for a moment that the Focus is an ugly car, because it's not and can't argue about the sales figures either!
I'm just a little disappointed that Subaru has gone to a hatchback design, but having said that, I guess they must of done their homework on things like sales figures and came up with the conclusion that the masses prefer hot hatches instead of saloons, not to mention other variables like being smaller (not sure if it is though)and lighter, so a hatchback is needed to remain competitive in the WRC (for arguments sake), where Subaru seems to struggle compared to Citreon, Peugeot and Ford.
As I've said before, maybe when people start seeing them in the flesh, they may be seen in a different light, after all, when the Hawkeye press shots were first released, not many people liked it

Another thing to remember is that Subaru only get the money from the sales of NEW cars (apart from servicing and parts, which is small compared to the sale of a car). How many people among the Scoobynet community were lucky enough to be able to afford a new car? They need to sell more new cars and so they have to target the people who buy most new cars.

Whilst the WRX looks too plain the STi looks much better with the wider arches and other slight differences. Will be interesting to see what actual owners start to say about it.
I will have a test drive when one is local, to see how they compare. Will also be watching closely when they start running in the WRC, as I also think they have gone to a hatchback to try to be more competitive.

I agree that the STi looks like a completely different animal than the WRX but what about the fundamental issue of it being smaller... so small that the old shape (New Age) Tiny couldn't fit behind the wheel comfortably. I suppose the leaner meaner lighter (Classic) Tiny could find it a bit easier but I doubt his legs have shrunk..

As already mentioned, Subaru are trying to entice a new breed of buyer. Unfortunately blokes over 6ft 2 & 13 stone ( ) aren't currently part of that breed.

I spend a lot of time driving, mostly in and out of London, and I can't say I have seen any new shape models yet, turbo or non-turbo. Is the STi on the road yet? Would have thought I would have come across one by now
