Veyron loses it's crown....
Picked up a freebie magazine tonight as I was going into the tube at Holborn called Shortlist........... funny name for a magazine, but as it had Hamilton on the front, I thought I might as well have a read.
Gawd blimey - 6th page in is an article about a car from Shelby Supercars with a model called The Ultimate Aero TT which has recorded a speed of 255.83 mph on a section of public road in Washington State.
It's been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records (they say) as being 2mph faster than the Veyron.
They also say that a test driver is said to have hit 230mph during a trial in Nevada using just 56% of the throttle.
At NASA'a wind tunnel it allegedly reached 270 mph
Twin Turbo V8 - 1,183bhp. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and a record braking ¼mile from standstill in 9.9 seconds.
Price - £272K instead of the £600k for a Veyron and you also get air-con, sat-nav and a lift system to raise the car over bumps.
30 only being made.

I see that they say a submission has been made to the Guinness people, so we will have to wait to see what they say as at the moment, the Aero TT is their No.1.
Shame it just doesn't look as as the Aero...... which I've now got as my PC's wallpaper.........
