Stubbsy. A newb.
Afternoon all. I've taken the plunge and paypal'd my fiver to pledge support and wear the ESC badge.
Missed the Halfway House Thursday meet by the skin of me teeth, not picking the new car up till tomorrow morning. Can't wait.
Here's a few pics, looking very much forward to meeting some of you.
By the way, can't nail down what model I've bought, what the dealer says and what the other Scoobynetters say seem to different. Any suggestions or clarifications welcome.

looks like an early impreza to me
if it's an sti it will have a plate on the drivers side suspension turret telling which number out of 200 (i think it was 200) it is. no plate, chances are it's a wrx. if it is a wrx, i hope you only paid wrx money for it.
another thing to look for is the intercooler. will be silver rather than black, providing it's not been changed. get along to the lodge next thursday mate
there's load of other give aways. main one being the model code. make a note of what it is. this will be on the vin plate. somewhere i've got a list of what numbers = what model. will dig them out for you.
last of well, welcome to the madhouse

Will have a look on collection tomorrow. Thanks for the welcome.
So I can argue the toss with the dealer, what's a rough price for a 95 WRX with 51,000mile.....
It's got a water spray as standard if that sheds anymore light.

Hi and welcome, have a look at this site:-
Subaru Impreza FAQ
As mneame has said the model code on the VIN plate is the beat way to tell. See you at the Lodge next Thursday if you can make it.

mmm sounds promising. that dealers is slightly expensive anyway. private sale, you'd be looking at anything from about £3k up to £4.5k depending on mods, service history import, non import. Stealers pretty much the same, poss up to £5k if they're pushing their luck.

£4200 with my Manky ST24 thrown in.
Will report back on Monday as I'm off home now and have no net access. Fingers crossed.
Good to meet you all briefly, albeit in a virtual sense.
Nice weekend all.

looks like a car from jap imports in southend.
i bought my car from them.
paid a bit over the top, but hey, i dont care.
only had one problem, which they fixed for me. (crank pulley came off)
worth getting it serviced and the cam belt done, despite what the garage says.
enjoy and welcome
edited to say, actually xtreme scoobies fixed my crank pulley problem, along with servicing and cam belt. (still use them now 20 months on)

Morning All. What a weekend.
Picked it up at 9.30 no Saturday, all the bits done that had to be. Aside from the windscreen washers and oil temp in the pillar pod. No major problem as they forgot to charge me for the cambelt, so a fair exchange.
Idiots at the alarm place let me down on Saturday after keeping me waiting for 3 hours. So unfortunately I'm uninsured for theft. Getting one done tomorrow though, so just one more sleepless night.
Looking over it, everything seems to point to it being the STI, stickers, Nardi embossed steering wheel, power...
I've yet to look under the bonnet to check the model code to confirm, because I've spent every waking daylight hour behind the wheel.
Went to the McDonalds / KFC bit in Basildon on Saturday night. It's like a bloody car show there. With enough material to explode the Barryboys server.
Nice P1 cruising up and down though with an assortment of high power Skylines dotted about.

Cheers Dazza. I am mate, driving to work is fun now.
On another note, to anyone that might have an idea......the noise just isn't right. It's got a 4 inch exit with a nice rumble on tickover, but I'm not getting the characteristic sound that you might expect with that diameter pipe.
I've peered up it and there's no visible baffles. Wondering why I'm not getting the sound I want?

to be a fully fledged memer of the esc you need 2 things:
1) ESC badge....which you have
2) An ESC pink polo shirt....which you can purchase here: https://www.scoobynet.com/essex-scoo...nk-shirts.html

Right. I'll get a pink shirt as well then.
Further to my comments earlier, I've just been out and checked the model code. It's GC8C4ED, which according to the Scoobypedia makes it the MY96 first full production WRX STi2 4 door with 275 ps. Which is nice.
Does ps mean bhp?
