Default Suggestions to replace the Scoob

After this latest mishap with my car, I am seriously thinking about getting out of the whole sccob thing once it is back on the road:

I just don't have a clue what to get next?

Any suggestions, need something that handles well, and has the fun factor.

Cheers guys
David

Frayz,

Had an engine compartment fire, £3100 in parts so far, waiting for insurance to sort out then car is off to Zak for repairs.

So now just questioning the whole scoob thing whether I should just cut my losses

Oh **** man, im sorry i didnt know.

Well i can see how easily it would be to lose heart with it.

But let me ask you this.

Before the fire, how did you feel about the scoob? Did you like it? Did it meet all your requirements and excite you?

If you answer yes to these then you should most deffo just dust yourself down and get her fixed up better than before.

Its clearly a **** set of events mate but just make a good situation from a bad one.

What else would you be happy to own? and more so, would you be happy in something else if that caught fire???

If I had to lose the scoob, I think I would look at an Evo or a Skyline personally

Overheating..... Yep that was me......

Car going to Zak in the next day or two......

Nah!!!!!! I wouldn't change David. You'll end up with something very nice.....

At least your not having to "directly" pay for yours

I felt like I'd been hit with a plank and just couldn't take it in when I found out!!!!

I know what your both saying, there isn't nothing out there that can replace the scoob for me at the moment unless it was a R34 or Evo.

You just think if the car is cursed those things will inevitably go through your mind.

And to be honest I can't wait to get the car back, but on the other hand am thinking of just outing it, but I have been there before done it and 6 months later been back in a scoob.

I might be just sitting here feeling sorry for myself, as having no car is driving me mad.

Maybe I should just get a runaround as well.

As Frayz say's... get something to bomb around it in the time being.....

Have a little fun with that to take your mind off it..... (I'm thinking about getting a 3rd VERY cheap car to use everyday so i don't loose that special feeling with the Type-R)

Frayz..... how's the brake situation looking... you going to be driving soon?

Not good news David

After all what you have been through mate, if it was me i would keep the car.

You have a great car Fastest Colour and sounds great mate.

If you sell her and get a skyline or evo, YOU WILL GET NO WAVES FROM US

Still awaiting.. ive been told that EARs Motorsport will be trail fitting them before they come out to me...

Ive been told they will be with me by the weekend.

Still not holding my breath. Ive deffo decided that i really dont want the APs though.. as they run a 28mmm wide disc, the Alcons run a 32mm wide disc. Much better suited to the heavier newage.

Sorry for the thread hyjack David..

David, your car is tops mate...

as said, dont be disheartened!!!

i had a cracked block, which required an engine swap and was all set to trade it in on getting it fixed (four months down the line ive still got it!!)

cant beat the daily commute in anything else!!!!

i know someone selling an xr3i for £500 if you fancy a blat about in something old school. (red, full mot, old biddy owner etc....)

get it sorted out and keep it mate. you know you'll regret it if you sell. chances are you'll end up buying another one and could ahve the same problem all over again. at least this way you'll be safe in the knoledge, with zak working on it it'll be tip top.

as said above, get a run around and keep the scooby for the weekend and the odd blat about. makes it even more enjoyable when you get back in the scooby.

Stick with it David. You are bound to feel down at the moment but it will all come good. Just give it time.

David i know just how you feel hun, the big ends gone on mine and i was just starting to cope with the idea of a long wait until she's fixed, then i took my brothers cosworth to santa pod and raced it now im all depressed again. Thought many times of selling her but i know id regret it .

My advise is to get your baby back up on the road and stick with it for a while , if after that youve still had enough then look about for another love.

Jo you could alway's give Mick a bit of a thrashing instead of the car it may not reduce the wait for your car but i'm sure it would stop you feeling so depressed or maybe not

thanks for all the comments guys, i more than likely will keep it, but just fed up at the situation at the moment.

I think a runaround to start of with will be a good move, then see how it all pans out when I get the scoob back.
