HELP! - I cannot get my bonnet open!
Hi All,
Help urgently required please.
I pulled the bonnet opener duberry inside the car, but I didn't hear that reassuring 'click' that the bonnet makes when opening. Suffice to say, when I went to the front, the bonnet hadn't opened, and despite trying to use a screwdriver to move the 'safety' catch, I am unable to do so.
Any hints or tips greatfully received.
Many Thanks
Andy

Does the dubbery thingy as you put it feel like it's connected if not has the cable snapped you may be able to with pliers get hold of the cable and release it that way.
Is the bonnet has released but you can not raise it enough to release the safty catch, if this is the case then spray wd40 around the area and close it again and retry.
Used to hate this job when I worked on motors
Good luck

My bonnet does that some times.
May help.....
AFTER trying to pop the bonnet, go to the bonnet and TRY pushing it down again, HARD( like testing the shocks But over the Bonnet catch...
then Try popping the bonnet again!!!
It works for me.

once you do get it open, get plenty of de grease on it, prob just caked in crap, mine wouldnb't lock down when i first bought it, drove 50 miles up A38 at 40mph, only to find it wasn't a busted bonnet catch it was just caked in crap lol.
i managed to get hold of some industrial de-greasing lubricant, ace stuff an not had a problem since
