Default Scantool OBDPRO problems

I can't get the reader to work, have re-installed the drivers, configured it to COM2 and the thing don't want to connect, Windows don't even register when it's connected or disconnected (when plugged into a OBD port)

Bibo came round in his A-Class Mercedes(2003) and it just refused to work, I manually loaded the drivers, changed the COM settings and tried to Scantool software and Digimoto with no luck.

Digimoto connects for about 5 secs and disconnects again, tried using ELM and Moby protocols but made no difference, and changed port settings again.

I've run out of ideas and getting very frustrated, can anyone help please, before I sell the thing on Ebay

Mate mine worked fine.
Must be something on your config, did you have the ignition on when you tried to connect it, as the USD device won't be seen, until power is received through the OBD connector.

Error was as expected the 'Lambda sensor'

P.s. the device only works on 'ELM' you alos need to ensure that there isn't a com2 configured on the laptop, before connecting the device. the driver emulates from USB to serial

Thanks Mark, think I'll have to get you to see if my reader works on your laptop mate, thats if you don't mind - just to make sure it's not faulty, just seems strange that it's not being picked up when it's being plugged in

No problem mate, it's probably just a config issue.

Give me a shout if your around at the weekend and we'll meet up and check it out.

I guess that was what the missed call on my phone was about, i did leave you a return message though.

I'm around most of next week, if Mark gets to you first, no worries, if not, give me a bell and i will meet up with you.

I very much doubt it is the unit and suspect it is a config issue as suggested. If it does transpire it is the OBD device, then you will have a new one It will work !!

I only picked this message up now as i was away in Hull.

Got your message mate, though as I'm on nights, I never got time to call you back, been hectic making bits and pieces up

Will uninstall the drivers/software and re-install them with new COM port settings

I would have been surprised if it were the OBD device as had no complaints so far.

Glad you got it sorted anyway

Indeed, even if its doing diagnostics for a mates car for a couple of drinks etc, very handy indeed !!

I've sorted a couple of colleagues cars out at work, one being an Audi S6 which saved him loads of money.

Have a load more if anyone else wants one.

If its mainly for use on your Impreza, i'm affraid you may be out of luck as yours is a 1998 model. These only mainly work on vehicles 2001 >.

However, if it is to use on any other vehicle, then please let me know.
