MD321H anyone running one of these
Am considering purchasing one for the new STI engine, was wondering if anyone is running one that could maybe give me some experience of it?

I was told the t may be a little strong for the standard bottom end, and is best suited to stronger rods and pistons. I dont want to break the new one just yet

You wont be able to run big boost through either on the stock bottom end.
Pistons will be okay as the STI 7 had proper fordged pistons where as the later STIs came with the cheaper hypercast jobbies.
You will bend stock rods attempting to run big torque through a stock STI 7 bottom end though mate.
Id stick with the stock setup first. It will be a shedload better than your WRX setup anyway.
Then decide to either build the block or stick with what you have.
Personally id of used your current oppotunity to build a proper engine anyway.

Agreed Frayz but it is the money thing, I most prob will have the STI7 block broken and uprated, just means my car will be off the road for another month but may well be worth waiting.
And indeed in the time I hae been writing this I am leaning more an more to the "built" idea. At least it will be reliable then

We all have an addiction mate but go back to basics.
Warming and coolling down, check oil before every outing, change the oil every 3 months regardless of useage.
Check coolant every week etc etc. Mod the rest of the car but just leave the engine once its setup. It will be plenty quick enough and will not give you any problems.
Forgive me if i sound patronising, i dont mean to be...
but i dont see everyone else blowing engines and boxes left right and centre.

TBF quite a lot of ESC members have had engine replacements.
This is my first engine replacement, and can not account for pipes completely destroying themselves.
