Hi All
Is there any decent firework diplays over the weekend near lakeside/surrounding area or slightly further out or any that you would recommend, or I could end up bringing the kids into work and going on the roof to watch

Best one I have been to in this area is at Lake Meadows in Billericay. Well worth the money, and although it is busy, there is so much space over there you never feel too crowded.
There are loads to choose from though:
BBC - Essex - Discover Essex - Firework displays in Essex

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions, looks like the Orsett Showground is a good bet, and we shall be coming into my office to go on the roof on Saturday should get a fairly good view from Canary Wharf.
I love fireworks except when they are at 1am this morning

Apartently there is a MASIVE DISPLAY at Gloucester Park in Basildon on the 5th of november!
Not sure if its a ticket event though as there was a stall out in Basildon town center this afternoon dealing with the event.
