No More Halfway House?

Is it time we stopped going to the halfway house? Lets face it, it's a grotty pub, the food is rubbish, and the service is awful.
We could go to the Lodge twice a month, or find another venue?
I feel it's time for a change, so thought i'd see what the clubs opinion is.

Nothing wrong with the halfway house mate.......
if you feel you have had enough of it then don't go, shame you have to use a diff username......Tiny and the club enjoy going to the halfway house and the lodge, i actually enjoy going to both even tho i don't like pubs.....i go to see the club not the food or drink. Just my opinion mate......

Its such a shame we need to have this posted as an alias
I have been going to the Halfway House for Years and yes its not the best BUT lets not put all our eggs in one basket with the Lodge!
The Lodge has made us very welcome and yes perhaps the HH could learn a thing or 2
I personally would like 2 different meets

Having not been to the HH yet, I cannot comment on facilities there, however, pesonally, it is 1/2 way between my house and the Lodge, so I would probably make that my local meet.
I cannot see the problem with having 2 different places to meet, one which is more benefical for the crew located in North/East essex, and another for the South/West crew members.
Just my tuppence worth (if my opinion is worth that much!!)

If the Lodge was the only one it would just become "normal" instead of "the better one".

I hardly ever go to the H/H, only really to drop stuff off for people , staff are so arrogant and always seems like a 'funny' atmosphere there (not ESC people, just the actual place)
a second location is better then the one (i.e. 2 @ the lodge)

Indeed don't we have a member owning a pub in Rochford
Thinking about it debate is what its all about and someone raising the matter is not a problem and perhaps who ever it was does not want the thought influenced by who they are

Instead of getting rid of the HH why not find another one for the 4th Thursday of each month?
Not many people do both and some people are only seen at HH,
Why not start a list of other pubs in a different area for those other members to attend.
Do we have enough of an area and enough members to add this?

I havent been to the HWH yet so i cant really comment ,but does it matter what the pubs like ,we dont have to eat there and drink is drink ,and as to the staff 
we pay their wadges .

Don't want two meets at the Lodge personally. The lodge is great but its nice to have a bit of variation.
Personally I like the Halfway House as it is nice and local for me. Don't mind going somewhere else but it would be nice if it was over this way again.

I've been going halfway house since 1999 so it would be nice to have a change. I also think 2 at the lodge would be too much though.
Another pub in the halfway house area sounds good, with a nice big car park.
I do find the atmosphere abit strange at the hwh, and I worry when trucks and white vans decide to park up next to all our cars and then just sit in the van.
I'm sure there must be a nicer pub in the area.

I think TBH there are enough replies to this from people that agree it could do with a change of venue. Its worth talking about seriously at a coming meet.
I dont care where it is and think for the sake of the people who are local it should be kept in that direction. 2 meets at the lodge would not be a good idea IMO.
Think we need some genuine ideas for good venues in that area, Tiny has enough to deal with without having to find new venues too.
