Default Drifting

Hi there
My name's John Chambers and I run Drift Academy. John1UK gave me a call today to ask whether we could put on a drift day for you all and he suggested I post here to let you know what's possible.

We normally teach drifting with rear wheel drive cars only, but some of the skills we teach will apply to any car and a lot of people who come on our courses want to learn about car control in general to make them a better road/track/race driver, so it's all useful, even if it's not pure 'drifting'.

I'd be pleased to put together a course especially for Scooby owners who want to get to grips (no pun intended) with their car's handling on the limit. We work with several venues around the country and could tailor a course specifically for your cars if we can get some input from you telling us what you want to learn.

It's not going to be possible to teach you all the techniques used in drifting because they simply don't apply and won't work in a 4wd car, but we can put on a different course which might appeal to you all.

Just let me know what ideas you have and feel free to ask any questions and we'll see what we can come up with.

Thanks
John

I'd be very interested in this as i'd like to learn more about my cars (dare I say) limits. Not saying that I want to take my car that far but after the accident i'm a bit nervous and would love to know what to do regarding opposite lock etc.

So are you saying we could use our own cars to do this?
If so i'm a definate and the sooner the better IMHO

Thanks John1uk

What on earth have roundabouts got to do with not being able to learn 'driving control'?Even an idiot would surely realise that they are in fact one of the most likely places to induce oversteer/understeer. The reason you can't learn 'driving control on the roads' is because it would be bloody stupid, nothing to do with what road furniture is present, you muppet.
