Flamer kit question

Flamer kit question
Guys and girls of the ESC, I need your help Especially before the tunnel run
I just fitted my flamer kit, its got a spark in the exhaust, im fully decatted, I have a VTA dump valve, but no flames Is there anything I should know about flamers on a newage? ie, how to do it, spark plug gap, etc.
I didnt dare post this anywhere else on Scoobynet, I would have been flamed myself, which is kinda humerous
One thing, forgive me for sounding silly if this is way off the mark. At present I have a CEL up, which is for a sensor on the gearbox, but will this make the car run in safe mode and possibly cut some of the excess fuel I normally should have?
cheers
Cliff

On new age Impreza's there is an up pipe cat, down pipe cat, intermediate cat, centre and back box, you need basically a straight through centre section, as some people say is a cat, and others say it's a resonator????
a VTA dump valve is a must.
In my experience, you really need a long threaded spark plug, so the spark is as close as possible to the centre of the gas flow, I use Mondeo 16v Zetec spark plugs.
Also, you need a decent panel filter, such as green cotton, or K&N.
Having said that, one guy (Hales) had a full decat, and remap on his blobeye and it wouldn't flame at all, so he got a cold air induction kit, and it now flames like a trooper.
A word of warning, if you do get a cold air kit, make sure you have the car remapped, as it's likely to kill the MAF sensor.
Try using Silkolene proboost, as I used to get monster flames out of my classic when I had the flamer on it.
hope this helps

Well, what can I say, I come onto the ESC for a cosy chat about flamer kits and someone still jumps on me..........................eh Budgie!!!!??
Just went and bought a mondeo 16v zetec spark plug, fitted it already, but not had 5 mins to check out the flameage, or lack of. I`ll update this asap.
Thanks to Cornelius and anyone else who replied sensibly

Are you sure about that?, you posted you were out in your car 'giving it' and 'blowing'???
p.s there may have been other words used as well in the orignal statement, but we'll ignore that point for the time being.
