Default Advice & Help needed

I am looking for another Scooby and I know there are some ESC members who are very talented with scoobs, I just want some info on what to look for?

I only want to spend up to £4500 and I really want a white one - but would look at other colours.

I know I want an import so i get A/C and the little extra bits of kit. BUT ....

Do I go for an already modded or a standard one?
What could be the downfalls/suspected problems.

I have read in a few threads that quite often an engine rebuild is necessary in imported scoobs? is this the case.

Are any members aware of any good ones out there that are for sale.

Thanks in advance for any responses I get.

Found these 2 on Pistonheads

I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination so all I can recommend is that once you have had a look with someone who knows something about cars, make sure you get a vehicle inspection carried out before buying. Costs around £100 but well worth the money.

Don't rush into buying one either, always best to wait till the right one comes along.

Good luck

Make sure there is no rust lurking about, wheel arches, around the rear lights, bottom of doors.

Make sure all shut lines are equal and parallel

Make sure all the electrics work, including A/C

Check on the service history

Test drive the car, if it don't run properly, ie hunting, pulls to the left or right, brakes are spongy, ride is sloppy, gear changes are sloppy/noisy, don't boost properly then either haggle the price down or walk away

Make sure the car is started when it is COLD, so you can easily hear if there is piston slap, etc

any untoward noises, walk away

As said before, don't be tempted to buy the first car, there are lots out there, take your time
