IT'S HERE !!! ESSEX SUBARU OWNERS CLUB TUNNEL RUN XI, SATURDAY OCTOBER 25TH.
CENTER]
It's time again for one of the biggest events of the Essex Subaru Calendar, the Annual Tunnel Run
Once again the event is in aid of charity, this year it is for St Clare Hospice in Harlow, Essex. Proceeds from sticker sales (£5 on the night) will be donated to charity, as will proceeds from the raffle, tickets sold and raffle drawn on the night. For a small fee (also for the charity) there will also be the opportunity to adorn your car with blue and yellow ribbons and bows, as the St Clare logo is blue and yellow, and funnily enough that will match some cars perfectly
As usual, the run will start at Lakeside services in Thurrock (postcode on flyer above), meet as from 7pm to leave at 9pm (remember the two hour parking limit, after which there is a charge!). Route will be posted up later, but this year the difference is that we will not be doing the Dartford Bridge/ Tunnel at the beginning, as for the last two years, congestion here has meant a lot of us got separated very early on in the run
The most important thing is to turn up, have a lot of fun, and raise a bit for a great cause in the process , but this event cannot take place without a a lot of background work, so all credit and thanks to Ronnie Moore, for his organisation and route planning, Lee Brown for route planning and sticker arangements, and Lee's family for the blue and yellow ribbon and bow making, and Rob (Rab555) for designing the flyer and stickers
So.......come on, get yer names down!!!

I'm Subaruless now. Blu had to go when I lost my job. The coincidental thing is, only this morning I posted on the bike club page that I run - a picture, and commented about how I missed the tunnel runs.......
I wonder if bikes might be allowed to tag along?

HEADS UP ….. IMPORTANT MESSAGE for ALL TUNNEL RUNNERS ……
For Tunnel Run XI this year, we are going to change the 1st re-group location. Over the past few years, it’s been held at the McDonalds peninsular retail park. It’s been a great location for everyone to park up and grab a bite to eat. But it has been a little frustrating trying to get everyone out on MASS, with the traffic light situation at the roundabout underneath the A102, where your lucky to get 6 – 8 scoobs thru at a time, with the O2 emptying out at the same time when we leave to head back into London ( and this year there is a Lady gaga concert on, so there will be plenty of people trying to get out of the O2 ) combined with the normal traffic , us lot, and the O2 crowds, Blackwall tunnel just becomes a complete standstill ! And it always splits us up into small groups when doing the 2nd stage of the run to the London eye !
So this year we will be changing the 1st re-group location to BECKTON McDonalds ( E6 6LG ) with parking up at the PC World car park ( as shown in picture ) as the McDonalds car park is rather small. The McDonalds and KFC is located just across the road from PC World. Unfortunately this will mean a 4 mile journey back down the A13 from the tunnels to this new re-group location, But I think this will work a lot better when starting stage 2 of the run, as we can exit the car park and take a steady slow cruise at 40 Mph along the A13 back into London, allowing everyone to bunch / convoy up again so we can hit East India / Limehouse Link tunnels , and head along the Embankment ON MASS as one big group. Hopefully this will work out lot better for all of us, and also reducing the number of people that get lost after getting split up from the A102 roundabout situation. Thank you for reading, See you all on the night for some TUNNEL FUN
