Anybody know if they are still in business? I've been trying to arrange a full geometry set up for a couple of weeks.
A couple of weeks back the answer phone said they were relocating, now the answer phone just asks to leave a message and the website is a dead link.

Can anyone recommend somewhere local (near Thurrock) who is able to set up my classic properly?

Cheers

Steve

Frayz knows all about SKM moving, and as already stated by 53, they are under a new name. Although (correct me if i'm wrong please) I think we as a club are still eligible for a club discount or some sort??

Yes,

Skidmarques has relocated to Hanningfield under the name of Drive Dynamic.

Contact Damien and tell him you're an ESOC member to receive your discount on tyres, alignments and corner weighting.

Took it in today, a guy called Chris set it up. He transformed the car, it no longer handles like a shopping trolley

What model scooby do you have?

I have always wanted to get mine done but not thought it would make much difference.

How much out of interest?

Would this be a good place for me to get mine done or is there better or a just as good option closer to me. Maybe in Hertfordshire?

All depends how much you need to have adjusted.
They only charge for what they adjust, best off contacting them. Mention you have been sent by Frayz from the ESOC and you will get a club discount.

Sorry for not replying sooner. My car is a 96 sti RA, bilstein coilovers with adjustable top mounts. Ive recently had a 6 speed conversion, wheel bearings and hubs changed on the front. I asked the "garage" who fitted the box to get it set up after the box was fitted but I wasn't happy with it. They complained the rack was shot and it needed a track rod end.
On arrival Chris pointed out a bent track rod. The track rod end was in good condition.
I knew the previous tyre shop hadn't done anything as the nut on the track rod on one side was seized solid. It obviously hadn't been adjusted for a very long time. Everyone knows that heat is the easiest way to free seized fasteners, Chris was prepared and had acetylene ready.
Now to be brutally honest I looked at the equipment and thought this no more special than quick fit. The difference is the operators, they had no issues taking the seats out to get to the rear top mounts and were methodical in their approach.
Asking me how I wanted the car to drive, they obliged with a track day set up. The car no longer wants to shake the steering wheel out of my hand and turns in beautifully.

Out of all the mods I've made to my car this has to be the best £100 spent. Recommended!

At their old place they had two Hunter alignment set-ups. What have they got in terms of equipment now?

edsel, great reply and very helpful!

I don't mine will need as much work as yours as it's not really had any major work done and its been apart a lot so should all be free and easy.

I'm going to get booked in tomorrow and get it done ASAP and report back.

They are good at what they do, no doubt about that.

Shame, being in the industry and little birdy told me on the grape vine they were up red with some major companies.

Owing the local Snap-On fella a fair packet I heard.
