Default 2005 wide track sti ecu installing on 2004 non wide sti.

Can a 2005 wide track ecu replace a 2004 non wide track sti?

Or would it require a ecutek remap to make the 2005 ecu work on a 2004 car?

Regards

Why would you want to change ecu, im sure there just the same but would still need mapping so best just getting your own ecu mapped.

I am trying to get an ecu with ecutek already licenced. I take it will not be a problem if the ecu came from a 2005 dccd car whilst mine is non dccd and 2004 non wide track?

? Is there something wrong with your ecu then? If not why are you changing it? Licence fee is £150 iirc and a licensed ecu second hand is still circa £100-£150 from what I've seen so is there really any point? Plus it would still need to be fully mapped to suit your car.

Also I'm not sure if the later 05 widetrack cars are dbw and not cable throttle unless it's just from the hawks on, I'd check on that one!

I thought as the car had been mapped by jdm and I am going to map by him then it just needs a tweet as the ecu was mapped by him. So 150 for ecu and 125 for remap tweet. Ecutek new is £500 plus?

I wouldn't like to comment on that one bud you best check with simon on that one as I'm not sure it would be a tweak if it's going in a different car with totally different parts. Imho I would have thought that would be an entire new map but I could be wrong, as said speak with jgm he's the only one who can answer that for you, but yes it has the licence which would cost £150 anyway. So if your buying a second hand ecu with the licence already on there for £100/150 then is it worth it when you could just pay the licence on yours.

If you find out it does classify as a tweak off Simon then it would work out cheaper to buy the ecu.

£500 you mention is the licence and map that's probably plus vat.

Lol just get mapped on open source, many mappers do it and many use it.
Maps are done to suit the specific car they are In,they are not generic.
Open source is around 350 quid
