Default Will I kill my 2.5 06 hawkeye WRX if I map it

Hi all, I have a 06 2.5l Wrx Hawkeye. I have owned it for 7 months It has done 53000 miles and is totally standard apart from a very recently added non resonated cat back miltek exhaust ( sounds awesome ) . The car is my everyday runner and I don't drive fast all the time, just the occasional blip. I have been considering getting it mapped. I don't want silly bhp just a tweek to 260-270 would great.
My concern is that is that I'm going to ruin my otherwise perfect car and end up having to shell out for a new clutch etc etc pretty quickly or is my wrx standard equipment up to the task of handling a extra 50 bhp ? I appreciate that if standard items are already worn then obviously they will need to be replaced wether it's standard or not. I'm just worried that my standard parts won't be up to the job and the bill won't end with the mapping ?

they can fail standard or mapped mate so should be fine as long as you use a decent mapper.

A legitimate worry mate...I had mine mapped by Duncan RaceDynamix and was worried all the way through it. He did say at the end that none of the 2.5 wrx's had gone wrong on the rollers and he believed 320-330 was perfectly normal (standard clutch a problem though). He said that the only time something had gone wrong was an old classic which some dubious mods over many years and owners...I'm sure he'll be here to clarify though.

Done 20k miles on my 60k old clutch at 334/381 now in my 06 WRX. No problems.

My advice would be to get any standard car re-mapped. A standard factory map is not tailored to your specific engine and bunch of sensors. It's a one size fits all map. A bespoke map for your car will be tailored specifically for your engine and setup and in thoery be far safer to your car than a factory map.

Don't go more than 1.35bar boost with a standard engine though or you will cause your engine even earlier failure. Mapping a car is always a risk, but well worth doing!!!
