Hi guys
any one have any experience with the autotronic ecu? are they any good? have a 97 ver3 sti on apexi power fc, want to go maffless, autotronic for sale on here with ait sensor but no mapping leads... whats an ait sensor? tried to google mapping leads to no avail.. are they hard to get? are they expensive? What else should come with it?
do I just unplug the maff and take out?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It's an Autronic.

Mapping cable can be easily made with a serial cable and a 3.5mm headphone jack. - if you dont want to make a cable, Mark Shead (MA Developments) should be able to help you with a cable and a suitable IAT sensor.

It's a dated Ecu, but still very capable. - the most important thing is to find somebody who is experienced at mapping it, to ensure you get a good and well configured map for your car.

Thanks Littleun, sorry about the spelling, what is and where does the sensor go? is there any other sensors that should come with it? when fitted can i just unplug and remove the maff?
Sorry if questions seem thick.
Thanks again.

ESL will allow MAFless running on that MY and is more popular than autronic. It's 295+VAt new.

I've just taken an ECU with ESL board off my written off 1994 STI. You'll probably need to have it mapped to your car.
If that's good for you, make me an offer?

The boards for 92-6 and 97-8 are different.
