Ignition mapping
Hi,
Have been trying to sort out my ignition map for my 380-400hp Classic.
The engine is rebuild forged and built for high revs and flow with a td05-20G billet compressor turbo.
Compression is approx 8:1 and using 96 octane gas.
I have been playing with my timing map for a while but going no where!
The map is pretty well a stock STI map which has been expanded and retarded to work with around 1.6bar (top load row)
I am now thinking that with the larger turbo my max torque should be further to the right than the stock map. So with the thought maybe I am retarding the ignition too much too soon?!
Any tips would be much appreciated.

If you think you have retarded the ign too soon I suggest you advance it slowly until you start to hear det then retard a little to be safe. Ign needs to be set in conjunction with fuelling and boost to find the best torque at each speed.
