Default MY53 over fuelling?

Hi guys,

I recently went on a track day in the Scooby and part way round the engine management light came on and looking at videos the car was dumping fuel out of the exhaust.

Anyone experienced this before?

It's a blob eye Wrx with the ppp.

Cheers

Luke

What codes did you get from the ecu, Can't see fuel coming out of the exhaust as it would usually get burnt before it exits the rear box?

I doubt un burnt fuel would get through the exhaust system without igniting. Plus there'd have to be a mountain of fuel present.

Has your head gasket failed maybe?

id check the ecu fault light code first as the idea of the light is to tell you what the problem is, it takes all the guess work out of it

I'm going to put the code reader on it later to see what it throws up.

I only thought fuel as the water level hasn't dropped so figured it couldn't be that. Would head failure throw up the engine management light?

read the fault code and go from there its pointless guessing.

Just put it on the code reader and its coming up as P0031 Heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 1.

Does this mean anything to anyone?

Isn't that the O2 sensor?

I'd check that's working first.

yup front o2 sensor is knackered, ive had that before, its accessed through the front wheel arch on drivers side.
can be very hard to remove i took it to a garage to get it on the air and got them to crack the thread so i could remove and replace it.

Cool cheers mate.

Been reading into it and people are saying to replace it with a genuine OEM part...anyone know the part number, how many terminals the connector has and how much roughly they are.

Thanks all
