P0420 is the code for a cat below efficiency....... Means you have removed the cats or the rear 02 sensor has broken.

Either way it should have been mapped out by your mapper......

Not really a topic for discussion here and it's back to your mapper to sort.

Complete rubbish or you have misunderstood what has been said.

There should be no need for any parts to resolve this issue, all done on the laptop.

I dont see explaining further as clearly the place who have done it dont know imho.

P0420 usually gets mapped out on a decat.

No such thing as a high performance AFR sensor, The subaru one does the job just fine unless running an aftermarket ecu like syvecs which uses a wideband

I was trying to be careful as a trader is easy to come across as sour.

Serious OP this needs looking at by someone that knows subaru's.

If that is actually what he said then please name and shame as that is just him trying to con more money out of you. I'm surprised he didn't offer you a £100 gold HDMI lead!

As Simon says, take it as a lesson and put your car in the hands of an Impreza expert.

Buy cheap.....buy twice!
