I own a version 4 classic impreza sti import which is a 3 plug ecu,
the advice I am after is will a ecu of a v5/6 classic impreza which is also 3 plug fit my car. If so will it require anything else apart from mapping obviously.
Any advice would be grateful thanks a lot

Just to add, the reason for the post above is that the STI5 ECU in question has an Ecutek license.

It won't work. You need ESL for your MY.

ESL is the way to go. I hope to be buying mine in a couple of weeks!
