What is your built engine mileage?
I have just bought and installed this short block:
-New Subaru 2.5l block pair
-New Subaru 2.5l STi crank
-Lateral/Wiseco custom stroker 2.5lt piston kit
-Lateral "H" section rods, ARP bolts
-Cosworth steel head gaskets, to suit pistom kit CR
-ACL Race series main bearings, phase 2 set
-ACL Race series big end bearings set
-To clean short engine components, prep block pair, dummy build short engine with plasti gauge, inspectm re-clean and final assembly
-Engine re-build kit
-RCMS 340lt fuel pump
-Pin the block
-ARP head stud kit
-11mm Subaru uprated oil pump
My OEM engine had 25 000km with stock parts and tune and 50 000km with Nvidia catted DP+Milltek cat back+Cosworth air filter panel+ECU Tek remap. After approx 75 000km all in total my engine failed.
For now i am planing to stay at present tune and parts with this new engine but i will definitely go for additional tune and parts to get no more then 410-420bhp and the car will be used only as DD car.
How many kilometers do you think i can make out of this engine with that kind of tune and power?
Is it unreal to expect 80 000km-100 000km ( 50k-60k miles )?
How many kilometers have you had with your built engine before it failed and with what modes and power?
What are your experiences with built engines reliability and milage?
I heard many times that built engines can't last long and again i have heard many times that engines built like this can easily last 100 000km ( 60k miles )...what do you think about it?
