I'm a very new 98 uk2000 owner and apologize in advance if this question has been asked a hundred times before. I have been offered a four plug WRX ecu and have been told its a straight swap for my standard one assuming mine is four plug. Is it really that simple?

yes it will plug in. some wires need swapping around. but your going to need the wrx turbo etc. The ecu is looking to control a wrx turbo,injectors etc etc. if your going to try to ask it to control a uk car with uk running gear. its not going to work very well

what year ecu wrx? you say 4 plug, generallly a 4 plug is 99+ a 98 is a 3 plug so wont plug in but has 4 plugs holes but one is blanked

Four plug is model year 93 to 96, three plug (two different types) is MY97-98 for one type and MY99-00 for the other. The MY99-00 has one blank position, so its three plug

A true four plug will not fit a three plug obviously
