Apexi avcr
What do these thugs do !? Is there any advantage to me running one given my ecu can run 2 maps anyway ? I've got a blob sti all geared up to put my new turbo on and go for over 450 but I'd like a lower map for day to day driving - but have the ability to hit a switch and have full power. I may also add a 3rd map for meth ?

AVCR is a boost controller and from what i have read one of the best you can buy. I dont think there is any advantage to running one in terms of having switchable maps, but it will certainly allow your mapper greater control of boost.
Im sure someone a lot more wise than me can fill in more detail .
Cheers,
Ben.

Quick link to Andy Forrest's blurb about boost controllers, he speaks a lot about the AVCR.. http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/27001.html.

Hi there
As above Apexi AVC-R is best aftermarket boost controller,in yours case depends on turbo and what power you are looking to run, just due OE ECU can control boost up to 1.65-1.7bar,if you want to go above I would go down the route of the Apexi AVC-R or speak with yours mapper if he can map yours via CarBerry ROM and you can sell yours Apexi(which still worth £200 at least and if its Black I would say £250-£300)
On yours you can have two maps and two boost maps, but as above I said, you will need to have car mapped via CarBerry ROM(in your area is A.Carr, which using and mapping via this)
