Hi guys looking for some help here i'm looking to upgrade my exhaust on my 2006 impreza wrx hawkeye, something a little noisier and to get that great burble sound how do i go about it, anyone recomend any exhausts and once fitted do i have to do any remapping thank you all.

I have a Full Cobra 3in decat + centrepipe resonator and 4 1/2in tailpipe on my 56 wrx and I can't fault it what so ever. On tickover it burble's deeply, Up to 3-4K it gives me goosebumps then anything over that and it sounds like a chinook helicopter/motorbike. Quite a drone on long journeys but who cares when it sounds this good!

As far as I know you can get away with a deresonated centrepipe and backbox without a remap but as soon as you remove either of the 2 cats then a remap is a must.

I fitted my exhaust a week before remap and as soon as I got above 4k the EML came on and put me in limp mode. Stay under 4k for safety.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me about the cats if need be.

I put a brand new Prodrive back box and scorpion centre pipe to get rid of the resonator. Prodrive exhausts ARE Scorpion exhausts so they fit nicely. not too loud but got me 272BHP and 350 Ibft with a remap

Just fitted a full 3 inch decat from turbo back on my hawkeye and sounds great, just waiting now for eml light but getting a remap as soon as I get paid. I Will adhere to what beefoss says and stick below the 4k.
