Default STI 07 COBB tuning?

Hey guys, awesome site!
I recently bought a 2007 model STI (hawk eye)
I've been browsing around and trying to see if there are any 'quick wins' for power gains.
I came across this device online which I find interesting:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/Subaru-Acc...sport/function

Has anyone used one before? Do they work?
I see there is a 'stage 1', which apparently gives you 13% horse power increase

and a 'stage 2' gives approx 19% hp...

My question is - does this happen simply from remapping and upping the boost, or would I need to do other mods too (exhaust, injectors etc)

I have the Prodrive Performance Pack already, so wondering if getting this thing will actually help or is it only necessary if I make some 'hardware' upgrades?

Cheers

Ah, so it's not just about compensating for the change of the octane then?
Ok so next question, is it worth me taking her in to get remapped if I already have the PPP?
Not sure what im boosting atm, but if I can increase boost without changing any hardware I will

COBB is not available for UK/JDM or EUDM models

Speak to mappers here like Duncan@Race Dynamix or Simon@JGM,Bob Rawle or many others

Open source remap will be much cheaper than EcuTek route or COBB

Thanks Jura I'm looking into RomRaider (open source) at the moment, looks good so far!

Another quick question:

If I had to go and get my exhaust done as well as the intake, for example, would I be able to self-tune the CPU (air/fuel/timing etc) using the open source software?
Is it that simple, or am I missing something?

Hi there

Yes RomRaider is great option if you want to learn, but personally I would use EcuFlash as flashing or mapping, its much better program(RomRaider is too clunky)

About the adding more parts on yours like intake/exhaust etc you will need mapped for those changes, which means you will need to know what to do as first and second bit you will need at least wideband,Tactrix cable for start and I would add too det cans
