Default Ecu fault code issue.....

Just changed my ecu on my MY96 wrx wagon, it had a 3B as standard and I've changed it to a 7D, initially for raised boost and fuel cut off but mainly because it has the spare chip space on the board.
Anyway since swapping the ecu over, the CEL light has come on, I've checked it out to be fault code 35, CPC system.
I'm just wondering why this would come on with the 7D ecu and not the 3B one....
Any ideas anyone...?

Wrong ecu for the car, all the ecu's have the spare chip space I expect yours just needed a connector soldering in.

cheers
