Default AlcaTek upgrade

Will the upgraded simtek (AlcaTek)still run from the rear oxygen sensor or will it require the front sensor as well? At the present I have an EGT sensor in the front sensor position (headers) for information purposes.
Are these lambda sensors ideal for engines running moderate/high power or would an aftermarket wideband sensor be a better option.
thanks
Trev

Yes, if you only want narrow band control it will use the rear sensor as before.

thanks, I spoke to Andy (AlcaTek) and he said there would be much better idle control with the upgrade, so it's still not closed loop as with the standard ecu?

It always has been closed looped as per the stock sensor, but it's only a narrow band sensor, not a wideband. I recommend if you're upgrading you get yourself an LC1 wideband and go for full closed loop wideband control.
