I've been looking into this as I've got to do this soon too. Any Alcatek dealer/official mapper can send this off for you, use the one who you intend doing the mapping for you.
The motorsport option includes the anti lag, Launch control and now flat floor shifting (change gear without lifting throttle) If you had ALS and LC enabled on your old board the new motorsport option will be a free upgrade, you will have to pay for the alcatek upgrade though. Looking at the new specs I would highly recommend it.

I believe Simon or yourself would have to send it off to be updated. I stand to be corrected. However, i asked about this and got told through his/their facebook site that tests were still ongoing for the newage impreza. That was back in October.

I sent mine off around 2 months ago for the upgrade.
There was a turn around time of about 2 weeks for it to get back to me. I exchanged no money with Alcatek direct. My mapper just charged me the upgrade fee when he mapped my car.

Does anyone know the exact turnaround for the new updates as I have been hearing horror stories about people waiting over 3 months for a update and not getting any confirmation that there ecu is even there when they personally sent it off,i need to know asap as I have one to send back and don't really want to wait a quarter of a year for any confirmation.SJ.

Also to note, put all necessary contact detail in when posting.
The ECU comes back to you but the new access code is e-mailed to your're mapper who you pay when he maps the car. If no one has the new access code entry is blocked, this from experience.

It's best to call Andrew at Alcatek and book your ECU in, I did this and got it back within a couple of weeks of sending it. I think a lot of the backlog has been reduced.

You are among the few who had AVCS upgraded Classic ecus and the new version of firmware for your ecu hasn't even been written yet.
You were informed in November that it would be a while before it was released
You haven't been without your ecu for 6 months which is what it sounds like above. You have it and could get it mapped, drive it as is and then upgrade later when the new firmware version has been released.

Errrrr , you obviously haven't read the comments properly then Martin my comment related to updates which can be clearly read ! You can defend all you want to but it does not take away the poor customer service Can you tell me who informed me about it taking a while ? Andy ?
In fact I was told several months ago that the updates would take a few weeks . That was from Andy ! If you like you can tell Andy not to bother about my updates (being as he doesn't reply to emails and messages ) as I have now swapped cars . ( someone else can have the ball ache of being told " your bottom of the list" !!! And yes the new owner is aware of the situation !!
I can appreciate you previously trying to help me resolve this issue , but you cannot defend someone selling me a product to be then told you are at the back of the queue ! How long am I supposed to wait ? Another 7 months , a year , 2 years ???
Maz.
