Default Water temp staying low & fans on. Screen dump inside

Recently a porblem has occured. Car is not getting upto temps & fans staying on. At first i thought it may be the crucial thermo stuck open but i guess not. Even after 20 mile journey oil temp is not going over 60c & oil pressure not dropping. Water temp goes just above the C mark & fluctuates

Hooked the laptop up on Syvecs & checked for errors on SCal. This is what I am getting:

Do i just replace the coolant temp sensor or is there anything else I can check? Will replacing the sensor just solve it all?

Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like the coolent temp sensor mate, quite common to fail and gives the ecu a false reading and runs the fans.

Hi Kas

We've similar problem before but with Oil temperature sensor,we are changed Warmup/Limp from 300s to 600s and we are never have similar problem after that

But I would suggest speak with your mapper about this,he can change the this easily and will not take no more than 5-10 minutes

You can find this, when you connect Syvecs with your laptop via RJ45 via SCal and under Sensors --> Engine Coolant Temperature --> Warmup/Limp ---> Warmup Time

As I said before speak with your mapper and I'm sure he will sort this out,but I don't think so your Coolant temperature sensor is faulty

Thanks Jura,

I will speak to my mapper about adjusting the warmup time. Did you get any symptoms when you had the issue?

Hi Kas

Symptoms,we are get just after 2 miles we are drove with cold engine temperature on Dash2 or Toucan rapidly start to rise up to 120C(this temperature is default for faulty Oil temperature sensor),but we are changed Warmup/Limp ---> Warmup Time from 300s to 600s,after changing this Warmup Time this error never occurred again

So you have low oil temp, low coolant temp to ECU, low coolant temp to dash and high idle oil pressure (indicative of oil not getting warm)? It sure sounds like the engine really isn't warming up doesn't it? e.g. thermostat?

Not sure about the fans, but fans being on shouldn't actually cool the engine too much as thermostat, if working, would stop water flowing through the rad and prevent over cooling.

The thermostat was stuck in open position (crucial racing thermo)
