Scoobyworld stage 1 performance pack
Hi.Just joined the forum after picking up my 2003 sti last week.
Previous cars are ed30 gti and bmw 123d m sport coupe. Loving the sti (except the fuel economy )
Just after some feedback on the scoobyworld performance pack , map, pump, decat dp and filter - £900... Anybody had this / recommend it ?
I use the car daily but intend to do the odd track also, dont want to go mad modding but if this pack will get 310hp or so ill be happy :-)

hello mate and welcome.
in all honesty your best bet would be to get a full exhaust system, a decent filter, fuel pump and a remap and you are looking at circa 340bhp.
you can probably get all of the above fitted and mapped for similar price to above.

I would've thought the parts you listed would come to a fair bit more than the 900 for the pack ? Cheapest full exhaust I've come across is 600, fuel pump 100ish then remap around 500?
That's a ecutek remap at least ..

600 is a fair whack my friend, you can buy cheaper or buy a decent second hand one for a few hundred quid cheaper. fuel pump slightly less and remap you are probably about right for ECUTEK.
still for maybe a hundred quid more you can comfortably get up to around 340 on your VF35 turbo.

Sounds good, any suggestions on the exhaust ? I have been looking at downpipes only as I don't want it to be very loud, but even dp and sports cats are 300..

Bmw was awesome, it was stage 1 ( bluefin remap ) so around 250bhp, so plenty fast , rev'd like a petrol with the twin turbo, and did 450+ miles to a tank!
I had it two years and that's about my limit , and jut fancied something cheap and fun for a year or so, I'd like to do some track days.
Not heard of the Lichfield pack , but if its dearer I probably won't go that Route, the scoobyworld pack appealed as its easy and relatively cheap..

Got myself booked in for this performance pack on 10th January :-) can't wait ! Also getting discs pads all round and fluid change, spark plugs, oil change, gearbox and diff oil change. Hoping the car should be good to go then for the next couple of years if I keep on top of it with regular oil changes.
No point to my post other in excited haha, and open to any other suggestions while I'm getting it all sorted ...

I beleive they still have rollers don't they? I have a DD RR printout from there for the beginning of the year, around February time not me personally but the last owner, funny you should mention the performance pack as when I was looking through my receipts last night that's what mine started with come along way since then tho

I did not personally have it done bud, it was the previous owner, he had also moved away from the starter pack before I bought it so can't comment on what it was like sorry.
BUT I have done a similar pack to my last uk blob, fitted a 3" down pipe which tapered down to a 2.5" at the join, and then a 2.5" straight through, no silencers or cats with a little back box at the end, ( I like the deep burble ) with a panel filter, 3 port boost solenoid and a map and it churned out 345/335 (iirc on the torque) did not do the fuel pump as it was a ppp to start with and on the vf35, was a good car in all fairness, probably would have gone for a Harvey uppipe if I had kept it but changed it for the car I currently have now. Putting aside the initial cost of the ecutek map, It cost me under £250 for all the parts mentioned above. You may be better off sourcing a ecu which has the license and as close to the mods that you have / planning, and get it mapped by the same mapper that put the inital map on the ecu and it should shave a few quid off the initial licensing fee and first map, all in all I'd say you could do it all for the price you mentioned above and have change from it tbh

personaly i would just buy a performance pack from one of the tuners rather than find parts form all over, yes you can save some money if you buy second hand parts and licensed ecu, but if things go wrong then you get to the situation where all the parties involved blame each other and you get no where except a bust car and out of pocket.

Also be carefull whats actualy included in the packs, some are just cat back, some dont include RR time, some dont include fuel pumps etc etc make sure you dont get caught out needing some parts that wern't listed but are needed (fuel pump is a must)

There no fun in check book tuning not that I wouldn't don't get me wrong but I get a kick from doing stuff my self and especially for a fraction of the cost, not a lot can go wrong with sourcing an exhaust really or the other parts tbh, but I would agree with the mapping side an the ecu, but you got to be in it to win it as they say
I just think why pay 1k for something if you can find it for half the money and give it a bit of elbow grease to save your self some coin, can buy something else you want then

you pays your money you takes your choice , although i do know someone who has a sport that was decatted, the back box started desintergratng inside and it started kicking out wire wool type of stuff lol

This is why I thought the scoobyworld pack was a good idea, new parts fitted all together at the same place , and it must be something they do regularly so will do right .. ? I hope !
Waiting to hear back on a price anyway with the huge service included ( with a cam belt change now aswell haha :-( )
If the price is silly, I might delay the power mods and whip the car to prosport which is 5 mins away , and just get the whole service done so the cars good to go, then Fodor more power.
My Initial plan was to leave the car standard performance wise and then abuse it on track without the worry of wrecking it, but got carried away as always !

prepare to gulp when price comes back. you will def need a fuel pump so that will be extra on the £899, full decat will be extra and if you go for cold air feed it will be extra as well.
Personaly i would take advise on what to do for track use, sound levels are and issue along with a whole raft of other things.
