Default ADVICE PLEASE - Remap / PPP

Hi guys. I have a very limited knowledge of engines etc but want to learn more. I pick up my 2005 2.0 STI (Type UK) on 15th Dec and are very excited. It's totally standard and believe its around 265 hp area (correct me if im wrong). Anyway, Ive seen this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ECU-REMAP-...item25775bd812 and sent a message to the guy asking what it would take my type uk to (HP wise) and the difference between this and what you guys talk about, the PPP.

He replied with this "remapped it would be approx 300bhp,ppp package includes exhaust filter remap but cost around £1500
thanks

So basically if his info above is correct, do i really need the PPP for more performance if this remap will push it to 300 brake?

Thanks in advance any answers

no you dont go straight for a remap if you want extra power over the standard 265bhp with a few modifications it would make 330bhp

Forget EBAY, look on here for a respected mapper, & ask him what mods to do before he remaps it for you. There are several great mappers on here who know these cars insideout. I use Bob Rawle & can highly recommend him, but if you want to shop around there are other good ones on here.

OK guys thanks for the advice. So what is the most affordable way with mods to lift the BHP to a safe level on my type uk?

Choose a mapper & ask him. However uprated fuel pump induction kit & decat or sports cat are a good starting point aswell as 3 port boost solenoid.

decat or sportscat downpipe, walbro fuel pump and panel filter and remap should see 330bhp.. or add a cat back exhaust too to see slightly more..
