Default Engine rebuild

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here. I have a 2002 WRX that's done 160k miles. I've not owned the car long and bought it as a project. Up until now (touch wood) the engine runs perfectly with no unwanted noises but obviously it has done a lot of miles so I never fully trust it. My question is how much am I looking at for a basic rebuild? I'm assuming anywhere up to about 4k but would like to know some real figures from people who've had them done recently. Thank you!

£2.5-4k depending on what needs doing, whether it includes remove and refit of engine, upgrades etc.

Or you can buy complete new short blocks https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/par...y=&searchPart=

Do this but shop around AS performance might be less expensive for a new short block.

Thank you. That's about where I thought.
