Esl Equpped 6s ecu Non responsive :(
Hi all
It seems my esl 6s ecu, fitted to my 98sti wagon has died. Dont have any Cel light with ignition on, no cel when diagnostic connecters joined and ignition on and no response when plugged into laptop with esl data cable.
Ive gone through all fuses, relays including main relay. I have a spare non esl 6s which i plugged in and got the cel light when ignition on and flashys when the diagnostic connectors plugged together.
I had the car mot`d the other day, it was a bit sluggish starting but started. garage brought it back and the next time i tried to start it i noticed the missing cel light and no fuel pump prime. cranked the engine but it was very slow.
Charged the battery hoping it was just that but no. same symptoms. I do suspect they jump started the car but cant prove it, if that might have caused a problem
when i cranked the engine with the non esl 6s it recorded a 13 code, cam sensor. I was aware of this sensor breaking down as the esl 6s recorded it now and again but never failed to start.
I have emailed Esl hoping they can help but would like to see if anyone else has ideas. is there an internal fuse or anything under the lid of the ecu?
Thanks for any help
Rich

Nope, the host ECU is dead ( been there, got the tshirt)
As you know, fitting the other ecu works so just put an IC socket board into the new ecu and install the esl

Hi all
New Ecu with esl installed. map copied on from laptop and its running lovely again
Big Thanks to andy at esl for a rapid turnaround and a great job.
The previous ecu died after being jump started with 24v by an idiot mechanic at my local mot garage.... they wont admit it tho.
Had to run a new Ground to ecu as it seems it broken/burnt out somewhere. Will investigate that further.
Cheers
